Kia ora e te whānau, Today we attended one of the Census customer information sessions that Stats NZ are holding to support their call for feedback on changes to our Census.
The changes being proposed are significant for many communities.
Specifically for DECA, the changes may shape parts of how Aotearoa understands digital inclusion for the next decade. We have chosen to focus our feedback on three parts of the full consultation document: • the new admin-data-first Census model • how Stats NZ should work with communities to design “tailored solutions” for data collection • how access to mobile phones and internet should be measured We have written a blog with clear explanations and links to the key parts of the consultation document that touch on digital equity and inclusion. Please take a few minutes to read our blog and share your thoughts with us. Your insights will strengthen DECA’s submission and help ensure our communities are visible in the data that drives funding and policy.
